I mean, I was just commenting on *your* comparison to BJ Alex. BJ Alex is genuinely better than Jinx at the ML's redemption simply because the MC *had* others to lean back on. Kim Dan doesn't. Jinx literally requires the MC to be in a life threatening situation for ML to head towards "redemption."
So are you really surprised other are shocked when the author of BJ Alex that, again, had a sublime redemption arc, fumbled on Jaekyung's redemption? To circle back to your question: people had high expectations due to author's previous shining title.
