You're making things up, lol. This man tried nothing except pretending to do drugs. That was his first and only plan. It backfired because it made everyone think he was an addict and addicts can't be trusted. If you've ever dealt with addicts you know that you can love addicts but you can never ever trust them. The ML not believing him is completely justified because he acted like an addict... And that was his plan.
