So this is my personal theory of why Momiji hates Sakura（ °__ °） First obviously he's an outsider but he's an outsider that won the hearts/trust of others despite being in Bofurin in less than a year. This is the "First Theory" comes in Sakura won the hearts of others while he was feared, no one wanna get close to him nor wanna understand him. In sort he is jealous of Sakura. Obviously it seems he experienced bad stuff like Sakura but him and Sakura took different paths. Him being a lone wolf that continuously hating outsiders while Sakura opened up, worked his ass off and then now surrounded by people that appreciates him. Though it seems Ume knows Momiji past but that's pretty much it cuz Ume respects boundaries. He'll only gonna pry into your business if you done something bad to the town/his friends or you'll open up first. (⌒▽⌒)
"Second Theory" you can take this as a grain of salt cuz I know this one is totally left field. So in this chapter Sugishita bringing everyone to Pothos it seems like Kotoha might be the one telling the story or both her and Sugi. I think Kotoha knows his past she might heard it from Ume or Momiji himself. Remember Kotoha is the same age as Sakura? So maybeeeee Momiji opened up to her. Here's the wild theory comes in maybe Momiji secretly likes Kotoha and heard rumors about Sakura saving her, Sakura always goes to Pothos or maybe Ume blab something to him that Kotoha and Sakura being friendly to each other he got very jealous and despises him more like in Demon Slayer on how Obanai hates Tanjiro to his very core cuz Mitsuri is being very friendly to Tanjiro. Ik this is totally left field ╮(￣▽￣)╭
