Hate his character development all you want, but Jaekyung isn’t automatically becoming a better person. The fact he’s forcing Kim Dan to sleep in the same bed as him despite knowing it makes him uncomfortable shows he’s still indulging in his selfish tendencies. I’m not saying that his “character development” is good, I still believe that the author could’ve dealt with it differently. If it were me, I’d show him gradually improving over time instead of so suddenly, but I digress. Jaekyung isn’t automatically becoming a good person, he acknowledges Kim Dan’s discomfort and chooses to ignore it to get what he wants. His selfishness is the whole reason why Kim Dan is even back. Kim Dan isn’t pitying him because of his bad childhood either. He sympathizes with him while not forgiving him for his behavior. I think the author did good in that regard, but whatever
