I'm currently rereading, and I've always thought that the manhua adaption tend to skip some details, which highlights the story. I've always been particular about small details. Say for example, When Hanzhang was called by the Empress, Jing shao was waiting nearby the Empress palace, and he meets his younger brothers (children of the other concubines that are still young.) they had a warm brotherly encounter and they were seen by the Emperor. Which ultimately lead Jing shao to talk to his father about his sincerity towards Hanzang and how he doesn't want to take a second wife.
In the manhua however, Jing shao doesn't meet any younger princes, and it skipped to the scene where he talks with his father. There's are some characters that were skipped in the manhua, mainly because they didn't really affect the flow of the story. But some of things that were skipped added depth to characters overall situation... So I feel slightly disappointed, but I still like the manhua version though.
