Yep. Sthg with the faces is just off in the expressions that also kills any chemistry there could be. Between mannequin/mask like and pain, no emotional range present.

I wish this author knew how to draw people feeling pleasure. All the time i thought I was reading a horror story but it was just bc he looks in pain even when he's enjoying himself
