I don't think authors always reveal back stories to redeem or justify the villain- sometimes it can just be an explanation but you can continue to hate them. in avatar the last Airbender we do get firelord ozai's back story but that doesn't change or save him from the consequences that his actions have brought him.
I kinda understand that the author want to show Cesare's past and PROBABLY find a reason to justify him being a pice of trash and good for nothing worm... But I don't think it'll be efficient i mean the only thing i could feel about him is pitty

I mean, yes he had his reasons (the bla bla bla world transform the villain stuff - witch i don't agree) but why don't just work his weak brain? Like he's clearly unstable
AND if we're talking about villain/villainess Ruby had every single reason to be a fucking bicth and become a witch to kill everyone but well... She didn't and Cesare thinks he's stronger than her (ㆁωㆁ*)
I'm just annoyed that we have to see the point of view of someone like him lmao
