I think that's exactly the point of the story. Power corrupts even those who seem selfless - Diana, imo, is a very common story of preachers and all kinds of religious and political leaders everywhere. They start with good intentions, and become trusted by many people, but inevitably fall due to greed and selfishness. Absolute power corrupts absolutely, no matter how holy and well intentioned you are.
if she weren't greedy and jealous, she would've stayed as the saintess and a crown princess. poor her but she deserves it lol
