Personally for ch 18 if Yuta really hurt the dog, that would be out of character for his mindset. He's always surrounded by cats, sleeping with a cat, and even he used to have a cat in pavilion. He's a traumatized anxious person trying to survive (pls go to therapy again yuta). People saying he would hide the dog, and let seunghyun assume the worse about him is the more 'realistic' way for the plot.
Though my theory, I think Seunghyun would also know Yuta wasn't the kind of person that would hurt his pet. And when seunghyun reacted like that, that he didn't believe yuta hurt the dog, yuta got more anxious because he dislike it when seunghyun suddenly being all soft to him as he felt like seunghyun is just faking it. Well, in conclusion, I dont think yuta would hurt the dog, he would pretend to and being all arrogant in front of seunghyun, waiting seunghyun to snap.
