Some of you seem to not understand yigon properly. He’s a business and academic genius, that does NOT mean he’s a master manipulator that can navigate all social situations

He’s purposely kept himself out of more complex situations in order to please his brother. He can save a companies stocks and profit margins, but that is different than navigating high stakes meetings, or being able to negotiate. He doesn’t have friends or people he can trust, most of his relationships have been transactional (either sex partners or people he used to create the partier image)

“Why doesn’t he leave the brother” it can be difficult to exit a toxic dynamic, especially if it’s your brother, and someone you have relied on for literally you’re entire life

He’s grown up in an abusive environment, and has constantly been under the control of his brother. He was sick as a child, his brother was always there to comfort him. Hakyung is the only family he was ever close to. He doesn’t have grand motivations, he just wanted to be close to his brother. Of course Hakyung became cold to him, and Yigon lost his only source of emotional support.

So his brother essentially severs their relationship, almost kills him, constantly spies on his every action, and threatens him. Yigon is alone and doesn’t tell anyone the full story, taekang is the only person he’s come close to trusting. He sees taekang as a protection, a way to stop his brother from killing him. And as yigon says taekang is the only person he’s been able to rely on as an adult. He was desperate for any meaningful connection, any way to ensure he can live and keep his brother away.

But those few months, which ended with taekang ripping the contract in his face and shutting down all accusations that he reciprocates yugon’s feelings, do not compare to Yugon’s history with Hakyung. Hakyung is who cared for him as a child, someone that Yigom has always looked up to and shaped his life around pleasing. Of course yigon doesn’t understand his brothers intentions were always twisted, that all the “care” was only so Hakuung could ensure his position in the corporate structure.

as far as yigon knows, taekang never cared about him and that taekang only ever saw him as a useful tool to keep marriage proposals away. Even taekang himself doesn’t realize he has feelings for Yigon.

But hakyung? Yigon remembers their past fondly, he thinks his brother used to love and care about him. Instead of having hopes taekang will start to care for him, he’d rather take a chance at finally repairing the relationship with his brother

will he go through with drugging taekang??? I don’t think he will, but it mostly depends on what taekang says when they meet up again.

Either way, it makes sense why yigon is agreeing with his brothers plan. It makes sense why yigon has lost faith in taekang. Even if taekang was able to call him or showed up to visit him, that wouldn’t wipe away every doubt yigon has
