Idk, I’m all in for the emperor for the ML. I think it’ll get too complicated if the ML is the duke, her father was the one who contributed the most to war and is loyal to the emperor while the duke’s goal is revenge for his family (and revive their power). I think the story being partly comedic is better off without any complicated and political stuff (in my opinion)
