I love this so much not gonna lie. As an asian who grew up in east asia, the lgbt suppression there is like a silent rule that everybody just follows naturally. dont get me wrong, ive had plenty of queer friends there, but it was always second-nature to just hide the fact and claim to be straight until asked otherwise. the way Andrew lets go of Luke's hand (even after he says he's alright with it) was just really realistic to me, i've read multiple BL's where the main couple would carelessly hold hands and have pda which is rarer than most people think. sure, a majority will see them and not comment on it to not be rude, but its a custom to think that its weird and lots of older generations tend to bad-mouth queer people amongst each other.

its sad but still real, not only will it raise questions but will also make life (such as getting employed) so much harder and its really sweet of andrew to be considerate about that fact (●'◡'●)ノ
