Coming out as someone who likes toxic pairings... I'm not gonna lie I really just prefer some toxic pairing over healthy ones sometimes, I like passion, Roses n Champagne, allat. No, I'm not gonna read LITC, LTIT, and GMND, I gwt that they're good but honestly they just don't interest me, and it's not even about the lack of smut or whatever, I've read plenty of stuff without smut, heck I read rofans too ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭ They just don't really interest me, not my fault the good ones are usually toxic.
I guess I'm a tradjoshi or whatever, I don't really know, I just read what interest me, toxic or not. But I hate it when other readers put other people down just because other people like toxic yaoi, at the end of the day we all read about men kissing so what's the point.
Fiction does influence reality, yes, but it shouldn't matter to you if someone's consuming problematic fiction. So long as that fiction is not based upon real life events, at least. If you're worried about people viewing the fictional content they consume as "normal", then you should tell them to keep in mind that what they're reading doesn't apply to real life morality standards, you shouldn't tell them to just stop reading that content altogether.
Problematic fictional content will always exist, the people consuming said content should just keep an open mind that the fiction they're consuming is still wrong in real life. (=・ω・=)
