I think she may be naturally abusive and manipulative because she was also kinda being like that with the mc when she was talking about chanwoo.
I don’t know if it’s just me but did his ex come off as kinda unintentionally mean when she was telling him that because she has no expectations of him he wouldn’t be able to disappoint her??
