Ig the author intended for the punchline to be how bad the ml. He's basically an overpowered Sociopath (more like psychopath, especially in the 1st ch). So I think it's in his character to be so narcissistic, unreasonable and absolutely insufferable.

If I'm being honest the ml is just annoying and insufferable right now. Idc if he never sa mc or not, the disrespect mc got is crazy. It's not even funny anymore with the negative stats. Like where's the punchline in this? Is this supposed to be funny? How is this even sweet. The only characters I like in this story is Mc, Bundle, and that one nurse/worker in mc clinics. If there's 100 characters in the story the ml will not even be in 100, he deserves nothing. When will this "comedy" end? So annoying
