Yeah, the boy and girl didn't really serve much purpose to the story. I think the author added them in so the MC wouldn't feel so trapped and lonely during the times when ML locked her up in the pitch black palace room.
The absence of the little girl and boy would've given those chapters a darker tone hahaha.
Then again, the author could've solved this problem by giving MC the ability to create her own dream land or uhhh... illusion world. That would've also worked just fine without the addition of the unnecessary side characters.
I agree! And the whole point of the story was angst. I can understand maybe having the fake world, but the author could’ve made the friend she met in her dreams as the god that was helping her in disguise or even just her subconscious supporting her on the side. Like the memories of her being the heroine locked away but appearing as her subconscious in that world as the teddy bear.

The side stories are boring and confusing. I don’t care about the parents or the random little girl and boy. I honestly don’t understand why the little girl and boy even exist in the story because they do nothing for the plot. It’s all just fluff when I’d rather read the actual story. It’s making it hard to actually finish reading. I’ll probably keep waiting for this to update so I can eventually read the ending and no more of the boring side stories.
