I mean there's nothing wrong about it since they are now grown adults, but MC might still feel weird about meeting the ML when he was 12 years old which is off putting to think that Mc never really saw that as a romantic feeling of being confessed to by a kid
I understand how the MC feels but in the end we both know they are going to fuck ┗( T__T )┛

Since MC knew ML from when he was a child, and from what I understand ML is still in high school, whereas MC has finished college and has his own clinic, I think he is being really reasonable. Honestly, I would hate MC if those weren't his thoughts.
I am assuming you must be a teenager to ask this question. But let's say you are in high school... Would you date someone in middle school, who is 4 years younger than you? No, he is a child.
Also, things were very different 30 years ago. Marrying someone older wasn't seen so badly. But psychoanalysis was invented in 1890. It's a relatively modern science, compared to others like maths, biology and such. We have made tons of discoveries in a little more than a centuries, but sciences need time to develop theories and for such theories to be proven. Neurology is even younger as a science. There have been tons of studies about how age gaps affect the healthy environment of a relationship. There are some that are happy, but depending on how much bigger is the age gap, it usually indicates more toxicity and abuse. This is well known in psychology, but for what is well known in psychology to become public knowledge it takes decades or even generations. People are trying to adjust and become more self aware, and to some degree the knowledge is becoming more accessible thanks to the internet.
What's wrong with a 8 years age gape? My mom is 8 years older than my dad and they have been married for 30 years
