RANT

i looooove this manga so much. if one will ask me, DNA is my second fav sports manga, second to Haikyu.

Number one reason why I loved this is because of Eijun. He was an ideal MC. He was hardworking, he was relatable, and he was the epitome of never giving up. I loved everything about him.

But what I can't stand, is him being "like a side character" to his own story sometimes. He can't have glory moments to his own.

Reading/watching DNA is like reading/watching Black Clover. Asta can't have his "own" moments like Eijun because the author will immediately find its way to overshadow their achievements and shift the spotlight to their "rivals".

We waited so long for Eijun to wear the Ace's number. We waited, we trusted, and we cried, but i feel like he was not showcased enough as an "Ace" except in the pitcher duel with Amahisa.

The game with Inashiro was SOOO ANTICLIMACTIC. What do you mean you are giving us that lame ending? Eijun pitching for 3 innings only? While Furuya pitched more than him?! Furuya getting the spotlight because of his awesome return in the last inning? Eijun "still" had a hard time facing Inashiro's batters than Furuya? WDYM he got slight injury? WDYM he only pitched one inning in the latest game they had?!

TJ-sensei really has a blatant favoritism towards Furuya and it shows.

What hurts me the most is the pep talk between Furuya and Mizuki about going pros. WDYM Eijun was left out in that conversation? And it's not the first time that Eijun was being left out!!! there were many more times that happened but WE DID NOT SEE THAT WITH FURUYA.

You can see that Mizuki's character had a hint of favoring Furuya a little because of moments like that.

This really had the potential to be the best sports manga ever if TJ-sensei really had given Eijun his flowers.

As readers/watchers, we want our MC to stand out as much as possible or even have that moment of being the "best" in their own verse even once, but yeah, that ending was sooooo lame and I just came back here just to say this.

It's been a while since Act II ended and I still can't believe that we MIGHT not get to see Eijun showcasing more of his talent anymore because TJ sensei might not create Act III.

It's a wasted potential. I am writing this because of the love I have for Eijun as a reader. He deserved everything in his verse. He deserved to be LOVED by his creator.

But even if we did not get anymore stories, I would like to think that Eijun is now in his pro career being one of the most skilled pitchers ever. I imagined him being a representstive of Japan. I imagine him exploring and conquering the worlds.

Re-reading this after almost a year gave me a closure that we might not see Eijun anymore but I will always remember his character as it was embedded on me. His character always gave me a boost that I needed and I will always be thankful that TJ-sensei made this masterpiece (even I hated him for giving Eijun that lame ending) but it does not change tha
e fact that he was the person behind this.

I hope more people will give attention to this and learned how wonderful of a character Eijun as an MC is.

THAT'S ALL. I probably will never go watch or read this again because it hurts me knowing how Eijun story ended on the manga (it was damn lacking) but I will never stop recommending this to other people. It was as great as Haikyu, Yowamushi Pedal, Blue Lock, etc.
