It is strange that this is how it works (not only with you and in this case but in general). I watched a movie, the mom died, the dad and the child (about 10 yo) were heartbroken, and then it was too much for the dad and he left the child with the aunt and just went to have time of his life. He came back when he got old, the child was married and had a child of their own, the dad wanted to reconnect but the child was adamant not to, and they made a very touching story out of it, everyone feels sorry for the old weak unwanted man and wants the unforgiving child to give in. In the end they did, everyone is happy and touched. But the dad did leave their child alone after the moms death, when they most needed him, had merry times and when he had enough, was too old to continue living like this, felt lonely, he just came back and the child was obliged to accept him. Sorry for such a long story, they are just a bit similar in thematics. The old man here waited till his life is almost over, the best part is gone, not many ppl left around him, he is old and might die in 5-10 years, and then he felt nostalgic, remembered his abondoned lover, idk if he knew he had a child or not, but now he is here trying to squeeze himself into the life of this child who he has nothing to do with raising, and we all feel oh so sorry and sad for him bcz he is old and lonely, no one is there to take care of him. We dont know the details yet, it might be his lover in fact abondoned him, and he really had no idea about the child, not his fault in this case, but he is still a complete stranger to the ml, who has no obligation to accept him. And this is quite a trope, this caring for old and weak and forgiving them for past mistakes and it works like a clock but logically speaking? Well deserved, get lost old dude!
Damnn i reallllly feel bad for his dad:(((((( he lowkey needs a hug
