abuse begets abuse, that much is very clear. it’s a common factor in these stories. but what i wouldn’t do for a story where a character (that’s not the fl) who not only breaks the cycle, but severs it completely. most of the time, the fl breaks the cycle simply because she’s from the modern era where it isn’t acceptable. but i would like a story where someone deliberately defies the norm when it comes to raising children
