How does one even begin to redeem ML? MC going back willingly still doesn't feel right. It's not a chasing arc because ML doesn't deserve to be chased, on the other hand it doesn't feel right for MC to 'give in' if ML returns to chasing him either.
The solution could be... Not to force redeeming ML at all, but that typically happens at the end of the story.
