Everyone reading this should be an adult so as an adult we know that fantasy is fantasy because it isn’t real. We also know that being sensitive to certain subject matters is a personal problem and as an adult we should take care not to trigger ourselves and take it out on other people. Enjoying toxic relationships, bullying, rape, etc in your fictional stories doesn’t make you less sensitive to these things irl, nor does it mean you want to see these things happen to yourself or other people. So like because we’re all adults with functioning brains I have to wonder what makes a person who doesn’t enjoy these kinds of tropes to read them anyway then attack other people or the author as if they’ve committed crime by enjoying a smutty comic? Like does it make you feel like a better person? Or do you feel the need to say it out loud to remind yourself that rape is bad and people shouldn’t do it? Are the comments like a post consumption pallet cleanser or what??
