Y'all I'm in a mood so I feel like talking about nothing in particular but I found a pretty popular topic

Topic: Diy vs Shein

At this point I think everyone has seen this debate, and honestly it got really boring for me really quickly but I'm bored so might as well type my opinion on (Even though I think some people will be butt hurt about it).

Personally, I don't think buying from Shein is as big of a deal as y'all want it to be. Like any other big corporation or whatever it is, it uses bad practices (Child labour and probably worse).

First of all, it's not like Shein is the only place selling fast fashion. Most of clothing store these days do, even the big brands, for even higher prices than Shein.

Most of the arguments I've heard is Thrift or Diy. Both in which I don't think fixes anyone's issues.

For Diy, you have to understand that people are busy, don't want to spend time learning a new skill or risk ruining clothes, and are disabled. It's weird to just tell someone to learn how to make their own clothes just for an aesthetic they want to wear or just because that's how they want to express themselves.

For Thrifting, you have to consider the fact it has gained popularity so stuff isn't exactly cheap anymore like it should be, Some people won't find things that fit the style they're going for (Like people in conservative states or in poverty), some people can't even afford to go and a lot of Thrift places don't carry ALT plus size clothing.

People that are against my argument trying to also make it sound like everyone that buys from Shein supports child labor but if we're going by their logic, almost everyone does.

That cute crochet jacket you got for cheap at the mall? Child labor. Those jeans from literally anyone that sells them? Child labour. Anything you bought while Thrifting that's from back in the day? Most definitely child/ unfair factory labour. That stuffed animal you got for Christmas....? I think you get the idea.

Anyways my point is, like anyone else I don't support child labor and hope trump dies, but until the world becomes better I don't see what's the point in shaming people about it.
