I thought that maybe Mc saved Ml from an accident or something because he's the type to act first, think later, but they didn't show us why he doesn't remember ml or even the dog. I suppose at one point ml disappeared and some kind of accident happened and he lost his memory or got so heartbroken that he chose to forget and focused on his studies.
Still they're already wholesome from the beginning. I hope mc stays by his boss side and doesn't change sides because it seemed like he wanted to go the stepbrother turf, he thinks they are more proactive and will 'help' him find the 'friend'!who con him. I know his revenge it's important but he has found someone more special than that... Worth staying for.
