I really like the dynamic between Nora and his dad... it feels so realistic. Per se, the duke is not a bad person, quite the opposite, and a good husband. However, how can he be such a bad dad? Well, just look at his own father, lol... he is much better than him but still doesn't know how to properly communicate and understand his son... It really is a complex feeling... why don't they have a good relationship? At least a cordial one, as father and son? Memories and past actions play a good part in the rift, but also the lack of effort on both ends to understand each other... It is a realistic relationship, and I like that about this book... can't really hate on one or the other because of one default they have when that behavior doesn't summarize the entirety of their character or personality.
