Yigon has understandable trauma because of his horrible family, but it's so frustrating just watching him whine and not do anything when we know he's actually smart. It's hard to remember at times when he does stupid things like trust the people who work for him (knowing how his house and office are tapped), still meeting with druggies (knowing they can spread rumours and are also in touch with his brother), etc. I don't think the ML is all that great either, but it's easy to understand why he thought Yigon was delusional. At what point do you think: "I know my brother was the only good person in my family, but now he's been trying to kill me for years, maybe I should fight back since all this fucking around to make myself not a threat isn't working."

I'm so glad I'm not the only person thinking this way. Although, to be honest I wasn't even thinking about fighting back.

Yigon is a millionaire. And he's a millionaire in Korea where everything is a lot cheaper than it is here in the US. He can just leave. He has a passport. It's not that hard to get a last minute flight literally anywhere... And while his brother might be capable of arranging car accidents it's a lot harder to mess with commercial flights. Especially with no warning.

Tell no one your plan, wake up one random day you're brother is working, put your passport in your pocket, walk a mile or two down the street to a crowded area and flag down a random taxi, take the random taxi to the airport, walk up to the counter and buy the ticket for the next international flight, and be on a plane within the hour.

There's literally nothing anyone outside of the government could do to stop you.

Once you're in another country it gets a lot easier to protect yourself because your brother isn't going to have connections everywhere. You can just go to a country you know he doesn't do business and use your money, since you're a millionaire, to establish yourself.

The helplessness that readers and the author have assigned to this man are wild. I'm poor and I could get out of the situation.
