heavily agree too, but for some reason ppl don’t understand the first manhwa, hyesung has been for a very long time scared that byul will one day know what really happened when he was born (which him fleding the hospital without even looking at byul’s new born face) which understandable he feels guilt and has been trying his hardest to make it so that byul would never feel abandoned by him in any way.
also the club scene, he went but quickly realized how shameful it is, that’s why he hid it from his parents but oncw he was asked he didn’t even think about lying and told the truth, that means he know that despite punishment his parents are a safe space where he gets to tell the truth despite being in the wrong (idk why are they saying that hyesung wants byul to end up like him?? are reading tge same thing)
the characters are complex, so much has happened and it’s all connected to each other across five stories, and it’s sad that some ppl just ignore how beautifully and complex every relationship is written
Call him a terrible parent but Byul hide things to not WORRY their parents, then owned up to his mistake and apologized straight. Also ask his parent to go out instead of sneaking out
He IS a sheltered dumbass but he knows his rights and wrongs and trust his parent enough to communicate with him (and thats more than most people can say abt their own parents)
And btw Hyesung had a horrible childhood with an abusive father and ended homeless to escape the abuse. He never had a healthy parental figure before he met Dojin yet he made a safe space for his kid so idc if he spoil him some, he did an amazing job
