If i remember it right, ennid has debt to the alchemist association or wtv, i guess he's angry because of that too, and i bet doing alchemy costs a fortune too

The correct thing to do was tell enid everything (he was smart since childhood, the director said so himself) and ask him for the money, and IF he was okay with it save the children and after that give ALL the credits and praises to him. Tell people "those children were saved cause this rich orphan kid used his money to save them", and if not all the money was used, give him back the remaining amount. Same thing with the other kids he did this to. He took all the credit, told nothing to anyone, and felt justified by it cause it was "the right thing to do" even building his reputation as a "saint". He did the right thing in the scummiest, dirtiest, most horrible way possible.
