Same, I don't agree because I think it depends on certain individual, how much their surrounding influenced them
My dad and mom is strict and "disciplined" my older brother so much, he ended up as a druggie (still tryna recover). He ran away from home and his friends convinced him to take some drugs
Me and my younger brother, my mom is as strict, my dad is laid back, we turned out fine, pursuing education and have a stable job
For byul, he has a strong sense of himself, thats why he can differentiate what's right and what's wrong, adding a lil bit naivety to it. He's young and tryna discover the world, I think there's need a balance in every household. I hate it when both parents are strict cuz it will affect the emotional state of a child. A child needs to be listened to and hyesung did that. Byul never go back to the club drinking or anything and even confront the guy back.

I know a family irl that's just like Dojin and Hyesung as parents. And i just like to say i side with Dojin's way of parenting. Byul acting, let's be honest, spoiled and immature stem from his mother's gentle parenting. This type of family does not work well in real life. The child, knowing he'll just get a slap on the wrist from his mom, will continue to be incompetent.
We have a saying in our country for someone like Byul but when translated in English doesn't mean much - 'Undisciplined child'. You can't just hope Byul becomes a good person. If he is a piece of shit, with Hyesung's type of parenting, he will still become a piece of shit evenif he feels guilty about it.
