This - I enjoy reading these type because of u change the narrative if ur life, it makes u watch out for certain actions, situations n what people u should cut out or not even bring in ur life. The feelings n rational u go through while reading these type should be applied in real life as well.
Perhaps, these reads make someone appreciate where they r at since they may not have gone through this, survived a relationship like this, or have empathy for someone who is going through this. There r many reasons y people don’t seek help today n it was even harder before in time.
Oh stories absolutely help you understand your own self and your own life better. I didn't say it, Salman Rushdie did. But it's true. Stores have the power to give you insights into your own selves which further helps you to understand the story in better depth. That's the beauty of stories. It's not just one sided. That the reader consumes the story and the end. No, it's give and take. It's a well rounded transaction of emotions and insights. Art makes people evolve.
The story makes sense with the backstory. The fucked up royal family who treated chang geon like a rabid dog which turned him into an obsessive and violent adult. The love and care shown by Sam gave him the motivation to become better and strive to be a king. The story makes sense.
It also makes sense that not everything would be hunky dory, fluffy and cute with such a story and such treatment of the characters, which readers dont seem to understand. You don't have to root for one or the other, you dont have to take sides, you dont have to necessarily expect a happy ending. Just enjoy the story and writing for what it is without projecting your shortsighted, immature opinions on it by willy nilly judging these characters without grounding them in their lived reality. That's what stories are for. To give you a window into someone else's reality, someone else's life. It doesn't have to follow your superficial logic or expectations. As long as it's well written and well understood and researched, nuanced and well balanced, appreciate the story and characters for what they are.
