Maybe Korean as a language is equipped to handle male concubines cause those actually exist historical vs not really able to handle a male mother of the crown prince cause that hasn't happened yet.
That's true idk how it is in Korean but in English you could still call him a mother but use he/him pronouns, a lot of omegaverse settings do this. It's a particular choice by the author n im not fighting it but defo surprised
