In the first chapter/prologue the knots are introduced "once *Three* knots are tied in succession"
The chapters are named first knot, second knot, third knot. Representing the magical knot. When the knot is untied wind spells will be released, "if a ship encounters a windless sea, it will be unable to move forward". Untying the knot will release a windspell each stronger than the previous, it will make the ship able to move forward. This also happens at the chapters itself as she is moving forward to leave the town, the first and second knots are untied. OH MY GOODDD bro basically reading chapter 1 after reading the last chapter is eye opening, it is already talked about how she doesn't want to untie the knot and how the oysters will not leave the reef. She doesn't want to leave her mother, she doesnt want to untie the last knot. But her mother made the knots to give her a push, the push needed to let go. "not for the saillors, but for myy dear little daughter" As those knots are tied for sailors on ships, but she made the knots specially for het little baby because she knows she can't always be by her side to give her the support and push she needs.

EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED, AUHTOR AUTHOR YOU'RE SO GOATED ╥﹏╥
