I’ll go more in depth of what wasn’t mentioned or add on, but I pretty much share the same sentiment. Spoilers as of chapter 28!
While it’s interesting that she’s not only transmigrated but also reincarnated, (standing out from the rest) it’s kinda dumb and overkill. Like, it's fine to have one way or the other, but doing both is just too much.
If she was going to be paired up with the ML in the end, then why not just do the usual "reincarnated into an extra villainess arranged marriage wife who wants to peacefully divorce but ML fell in love with her and she caught feelings too" troupe? Why go the extra mile and do the ancestor route? She would already know the plot and future events since she was a reader of the novel.
*Unless it's because for bs backstory information that she wouldn't have known about unless she was an insider from the past, but still it bugs me. Other transmigrator MCs did just fine without needing to be an ancestor.
Not that I have a problem with ancestor-type MCs - I do enjoy a good restoring former glory stories, but this girl has lived 3 lives and is giving me ick knowing that she's mentally at least 3 times older than ML.
Like, she cannot go # chapters without reminiscing about the past/her favorite disciple.
He was her favorite because ML would be his future descendant. It's kinda giving “I liked him but I can't be with him because that could affect the future, so he needs to be with someone else in order to produce my favorite character" ick - even though she had no idea she would be brought to the future. I wish she got with him so she couldn’t be with ML because incest is a nono, even spiritually lol
I wonder if in her past life she spent her free time thinking about future ML, only to be ironically sent in the future stuck thinking about the past.
She thinks more about him than Frieren does about Himmel in season 1. And that’s saying something.
I guess that’s why they brought up the wolf, to “clear up” those uncomfortable feelings. Blame it on the dude who couldn’t have her, sigh, so like this is their second chance of getting together?
I don’t feel like she deserves the wolf. She knows in the original story that ML is supposed to have him, so Taking from ML because of her “special constitution” is giving me ick. It’s giving "world so in love with mary sue that one lifetime wasn't enough, and wants to give her everything" including ML and everything he has to offer.
I’ll keep reading since we got over that hurdle, but am not expecting anything spectacular seeing how it’s going so far.
