Accountability for Birthday Crash

I’m glad that her dad realized that the lions crashed her birthday party (misunderstandings / misinformation galore!) and worked to have a do-over.

Kinda wonder what was going on in their heads at the time - oh, they’re having a party, but it’s probably not for Chloe because she’s “abused” in this house. It must be for some other kid or person who shares the same birthday, therefore who cares if it’s ruined as long as Chloe is rescued.

It’s a bit of a stretch, but that’s the best excuse that I can think of lol

I like that it’s a spin on the stereotypical beginning of a shapeshifter story - abused in the house of birth, and either gets rescued or escapes to find the other family who will love and take care of them.

Instead, both families love and cherish her haha. And ofc her childhood friend is a golden retriever :3

OG FL is a typical “world is mine” and protagonist syndrome. MC thinks OG FL and her family is good based on her past life’s knowledge, but we learn that the novel was written from a very skewed perspective…

Also still iffy about ML, if he’s end game. His introduction was pretty weird, or maybe because he was delusional / brainwashed. He told OG FL that his parents loved him (at least, in his perspective they did. His mom does in her own way). The way he talked down to MC like he was superior to her and he could “see through her acting” - like, if she really was abused as rumors said, wouldn’t you be kinder to her instead of putting her down?

Him: I know you’re being abused, stop acting like you’re happy.
Her: huh???
Him: I’m going to save you one day
Her: No, I’m going to save YOU
Him: *Surprised Pikachu face*

Me: What kind of conversation is this? Orz (⊙…⊙ )

Also the rescue scene… idk how to feel about it. I know that she did fulfill her promise of saving him, but what about the bandaged kid he was trying to save? I know that they didn’t want to helped by ML and were taking out their anger on a victim like them, but the way MC treated them wasn’t the best either. It’s kinda giving “who cares if this kid is obviously bandaged and sick looking - they hurt ML and that’s not okay. I’m gonna throw a chair at them to stop them because that’s all I have”.

Not even a little bit concern after the adults went into the laboratory - unless they actually did end up dying. If they survived, all the “love” and support might go to them. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

But anyways, ML is attached to MC and is feeling possessive, so woot woot
