Wow, I read the first few chapters of this a couple years ago, and just now got around to finishing it. I genuinely don’t think I've ever read a manga, nevertheless a bl that even comes close to the complexity of this. It was so peculiar and melancholy but absolutely captivating. I love the implication that this cycle would continue forever, until Makoto can raise someone powerful enough to say his name, and so one and so forth, unless he just disappears, of course.
Also, I think everyone online is mildly overreacting when they say It’s the most disturbing thing ever and the cannibalistic sex makes the first chapters hard to get through. Yes, it’s uncomfortable in thought, but the art style doesn’t actually make it grotesque enough where I think it would genuinely disturb anyone.
Anyway, my jaw dropped, this genuinely altered my brain chemistry. I think I will be searching for something that is on the level of this for a long time. The sheer grotesquesness of it, the complexity, it’s genuinely just phenomenal. If anyone has recs for stuff with similar psychological horror or very complex themes PLEASE let a girl know.
