Welp thanks for warning me about dokkaebi because the reincarnation trope is one of my least favorite for the same reasons same as this one - I’m not sure whenever Arthur is just glad that Jay is alive (since he has gone through so much since he has joined them) or if he’s actually listening for Owen.
Both make sense to me imo since Arthur has been showing worry towards Jay and „his“ weak heart, even tho it could have been all for Owen.
I hope there will be some real good clarity towards this!
I do like Dokkaebi but yes, those themes don't sit well with me so I hope to read it all once it's finished. I think the only manga I liked with that trope was a shoujo named Kamisama Hajimemashita because it explored the past lovers theme but with a brilliant plot twist.
And I agree with you that it's a bit of those two things: concern for his health and searching for Owen in him.
Still it's nice that he actually cares.

Thank you for that, it gives me hope, but I think I'll wait a little bit more to read it. I remember reading till chapter 45 and even tho mc demanded to be called by his name, the goblin keep calling him the other one, by mistake sometimes, and the feeling of dislike towards him still fresh hahahaha
The whole 'him listening to MC's heart while he's sleeping' could have been so endearing if we didn't knew who that heart belonged to. Ml looked so calm.... This kind of stories are always hard for me. Like his ex is already dead but you have his/her soul, heart or you're a reincarnation. It feels like the other person is always gonna look for some sort of sign that his ex lover is still there. I gave up on Dreaming of the Dokkaebi because of that, I was tired of the ML calling the MC the wrong name and searching for them in this new person. Surely it gets better so I'm gonna wait till it's finished.
In this case, memories play a key role so I hope everything clears up. Maybe they weren't exactly lovers because at the end ml's ex betrayed him... Hahaha whisful thinking but I do like that Mr. Arthur seems to be struggling with his feelings but committed to protect mc as a person (his memories too) and not only because he has the heart of his beloved.
Also I thought that ML's head will definitely be chopped off if the engine of the helicopter was on xD so frickin tall
