They do take meds as well.

I think him taking the med is for that purpose.
to control them from going crazy, if they randomly smell an omega is what i think. i don't remember which manga it is but i think i saw another alpha drinking meds. they do experience their own version of heat too but it's more about them loosing their reasoning and turn wild/aggressive.
so it was hiura the omega but.........i don't know that alpha also taking meds......
