Can someone refresh my memory on this please

ML found out about the MC's initial plan of datng the ML for character research purposes and was heartbroken. MC was not able to clear things up because he got a weird personality (or maybe he is in the spectrum) so the ML eventually left and they never saw each other again until the recent events.
