Reread this and dang, the impact quality translations and an uninterrupted read can have on the experience. Seme's character was interesting because he's morally gray and he knows it and he tries so hard to be better for uke's sake. He def messes up but I like that he regrets it and knows what he did wrong and actively tries to do better. Do I like him? Idk I mean I do think he's really trying, and I also get that dude has major abandonment issues after the way uke tried to leave him.
Uke was so frustrating but also I do understand people have pride and his was constantly being trampled on. I wish him and seme would have communicated better in the beginning instead of trying to manipulate the other one. Like please, just talkkkkk. Uke goes through hell and back though later on and ngl the author spent a good amount of time focused on his emotional recovery which I think was important. I will say there is a LOT of sexual assault, I had to skip some of those chapters cuz it made my heart hurt too much. This hurt my heart to read but the ending was worth it
