It's quite obvious at this point that the reason Jinx isn't scratching the itch, is because it lacks major depth elements.
The characterisation is off. Jaekyung doesn't have any redeeming qualities, he's unlikable, and now suddenly he's played off as this guy trying to learn from past mistakes without any foregrounded narrative. The reason it doesn't land is partly because of the shallow personality traits. And the other reason is because of missing overarching themes that could have served the story's thesis (though I don't think it has a thesis to begin with) I do see the author trying with the 'sad backstory', but sadly that also lacks. Especially in emotional texture and pacing.
As for the MC: he's naive and doesn't have any character strengths. His personality is as, if not less, developed than Jaekyung's. His backstory, specifically the sexual aspect of it, could have been used for character development. But instead he's stalling, as if emotionally stunted.
There's nothing in this story that serves a purpose, except sex, and honestly? It's just yaoi. And if this is what the author is going for, then that's fine.

But narratively speaking: This is shallow.
