I lowkey think that the fixation on the star is just to give a little nod to Aaron like in the earlier chapters, he always said how Aaron was blinding, shiny and bright, he thought that when he was a child and even now

Ok that chair is too short for that to be what kills her, I'm gonna guess the star stabs her because she said it was kind of heavy and there's this fixation on the star. Man, what a wild way to die
