Since every Esper needs a Guide, this gives the Ji Clan a powerful influence over both sides. For me, the best way to become a ruler in that esper-guide world is through holding the Guide association to your leash so that any rampaging Esper would bow to you and that how Ji Clan operates. But despite this treatment, some Guides still suffer because of sexual assault from Esper.
