I think she does have heavy sociopathic tendancies but thanks to her parents and her lack of power she kept it under control for a while. Then she got her powers and that's why there's such a drastic shift. Killing a dog when no one's looking and your a young child is still bad but it's a low bar for commuting murder intentionally Infront of people because you know they can't stop you

Yeah but before they started mixing up the meanings, sociopathy was more about lacking regular human emotions that make you both empathetic and sympathetic. Her mimicking tears suggested she might be sociopathic, but the way she’s still grieving over her father and is viewing the second MC as a father figure, I’d say what she has is psychopathic tendencies. She doesn’t lack emotions or empathy. She’s just very selective with her feelings and if anything, lacks remorse.

Just wanting to give u a heads up but sociopaths do have emotions and can have a pretty full range of it, they simply have a harder time experiencing empathy (they still can but it has to be through rlly intentional practice). Due to lacking in empathy they can manipulate without guilt etc but they can still feel happy due to others, and can still be attached to people

Oh man I did not double check what I wrote- to put it more simply, psychopathy makes a lot more sense, I got too focused on the initial mention of sociopathy. Psychopathy is due to genetics, and sociopathy is due to environmental + genetics- considering she seemed to have an okay childhood and caring parents, her condition is likely to be genetics rather than environmental
That flashback of Mina in her childhood was so interesting. If that’s all we had to go on, I’d think she was a sociopath, but she was motivated/inspired by her father’s work and the way she feels attached to the man hunting her as a father figure also shows she has too many feelings for that. I guess she can dissociate them and be ruthless.
