Like it really feels they really have a true best friend dynamic and are now transitioning to a romantic relationship after some believable hiccups, and it's a full fledged, well rounded development covering their pasts, family situations, their childhood friendship, their studies, etc. we get to see their inner worlds, how they think and narrative progression is well assimilated with their characterisation.
theres also a live action adaptation of this story btw.
