I've been obsessively reading the officials and re-reading the translations by Deliriouscat and I like those way better. The way Mookypooky and Nanjo speak to each other feels more elegant/formal in the fan translation. The officials are kinda trying to"localize" the dialogue with slang and a more juvenile vocabulary but I don't clearly sense the barrier those two are putting up to hide their vulnerability. What I think we lost in the officials is that Mookypeepee talks to Nanjo very preciously and the way Nanjo eventually warms up is super enjoyable even while his guard is still high. The officials are more blunt, like it's just a regular fuckboy and a neurotic young dude interacting with less subtext to dig through.
