oh my gosh thank you for this. im so annoyed at everyone saying “just sit down and talk”. it really tells me they have no empathy and understanding of the situation they are in.. if communication were this straight forward and easy, relationships would be so much more simpler. precisely because all these complex issues exist that so many couples end up breaking up.. just saying “talk it out” and critisizing the story for it is just insane to me
Put yourselves in their shoes. Luke trusts his friends so much that he doesn't want to doubt them without solid proof. People tend to easily believe rumours and gossip bcs they doubt their friends in the first place. Luke is a very good friend, he would most likely not blame Bruno for the things he did bcs of Derrick's threats. He has alot of empathy for others.
Andrew doesn't want luke to get hurt but he also doesn't want to out Bruno when the one at fault should confess first, not come from someone else's mouth. Andrew is protecting Bruno's dignity and giving him chances to choose the right thing to do. Yes it's frustrating that Andrew isn't giving it straight to Luke, but think it about it....how would u feel if ur new lover said such things to u about friends you've had for YEARS. Wouldn't you doubt them? Wouldn't you defend your friends since you've known them longer?
"Oh but I would believe my lover" then what if your lover was wrong? You don't have the big picture like this story. You're not a third person in your life. You are not a mind reader. You never know what others are really like unless they tell u. Which is what the current situation is. Luke wants to trust his friends, Andrew doesn't want to out Bruno and I think both of them made the right choice, because it really shows how good of a person they both are.
(Also I've been in both of their shoes b4 so i get them... honestly the most safe choice )
