BAEK DOHU

oh my gosh, his character is so refreshing. it’s been a while since i’ve seen accurately depicted characters within the autism spectrum in a manhwa. i love that the author didn’t suddenly make him emotionally fluent or all-knowing when it comes to feelings. he struggles to process things, and most of what he understands is in theory, what he’s learned or observed, not instinctively felt. but he [does] feel. deeply, even if he can’t always name or express it the way others do. it’s such a grounded and compassionate portrayal of someone on the spectrum, showing that emotion and empathy aren’t absent, just experienced and communicated differently.

but yes, of course, i do not support how he approached juheon. at first i found it hilarious. but the more the story progressed, it felt like there’s a gnawing feeling in my chest. i dreaded for their doom, because it was bound to happen. i really felt bad for the both of them. and holy fuck, this is amazing. we get to see them in a time skip. i absolutely adore how this is written. instead of showing a flashback, it started from the very beginning, making me attached to the characters and so invested to the story.

i’m so so glad dohu gave juheon a piece of his mind. he was there first. that’s literally his job. it was really a coincidence. anyway, i got sidetracked a bit, but yes. I LOVE BAEK DOHU.
