After watching so many C palace dramas, I must say the sister is a dumbass. She orchestrated her family's downfall AND so essentially lost her backing in court. Even if she currently has the emperor's favor, once she loses it (as she is not the empress), her only way to survive is to produce a son....and that is IF she survives any assassination attempt on her or her child's life. Without any backing from a powerful family, her life in the palace is very precarious. The story of Empress Zhao Feiyi and her sister Zhao Hede is a good example of this. Once the emperor died, the other powerful family pinned crimes on both of them and they were forced to commit suicide.
