i think the author is a really weirdo though i mean... making the ml her adopted father, her other love interests are his step brothers, her hinted blood related brother, her brother is a different timeline (his ex husband) LMFAOOO

it's a big spoiler but technically he didn't want any children and a wife.. his wife is his dead brother's fiancé, when his brother died the woman (i forgot her name) still wanted to be married to the family and got paid by alessandro to treat kanna well (we know she didn't)
he planned to use them and his own life force to change kanna's future of dying early. this plan was made by kanna's mother and alessandro and there are many times that he wanted to quit bc he couldn't do it anymore but there he remember her letter to him and couldn't let go so he's just wallowing in pain for soooo many years that he took hallucinating drugs to ease the pain

the story is actually pretty good ngl. the comments are saying alessandro (the father) is the ml is true but the ending is more like reverse harem? she didn't get married to any of them but she's technically with all of them. alessandro and his two sons kalen and orsini might've been a very weird love interest for this story but actually the weirdest one is with raphael bc it's been hinted that they're actually blood related but it's not confirmed if they're siblings bc the church (?) practices incestuous marriage so they don't know if they're siblings, cousins or distant cousin. her ex husband isn't so bad actually, he redeemed himself by living for two hundred+ years collecting kanna's fragment of souls (he had to wait for that kanna to die to collect it) raphael waited for her to return from the world tree until he was just bones (he put up his grave where kanna told him to wait and put a message asking if kanna has finally comeback) and the ml (alessandro) is the most pitiful of them all. i ain't even gonna type it out but he suffered so much, him and kanna's mother seon-hee. he was suffering for soooo many years he was high as a kite all the time too bc he couldn't handle the pain so that's why he comes off as someone that doesn't care or rude.. he gave up so much for just one promise he made when he was 20 years old
