So I'm assuming that she's his Cousin and they're living together to save on living costs. He has a thing for her and at some point she'll either start or realize that she's in love with him. Probably after an arc where she's out on a date, something bad does or almost happens to her and he comes in because he was jealous. Could be entirely wrong.
